Background
to the Evolution of the RNT Update.
Even
as far back as 1990, it was becoming evident that opposition to the
alternative therapies was mounting.
Clearly, self-empowerment and self-management challenge the stronghold
which conventional medicine and the pharmaceutical industry have traditionally
held. |
Under growing pressure, the Register started lobbying parliaments
and working with international organisations to secure a future for
the therapies.
The Register of Nutritional Therapists soon acknowledged that if the
public were to be properly served, therapists would need to be of
a commendable standard.
Equally,
if therapists were to argue their right to practise, they would need
to be able to prove their abilities with qualifications that would
be recognised by the establishment. |
 |
|
Since such qualifications did not exist, the Register set its efforts
on fulfilling its main aim, to develop professional qualifications
with international recognition.
